Dreaming of living on an island? You don’t have to travel south to Florida or explore the islands that dot the Pacific. Connected by a single road and surrounded by the calm waters of Taylor Lake, the dream of island living is wholly possible in Seabrook Island. A boater’s paradise, the enclave is one of Seabrook’s best kept secrets.
Situated in the northeastern reaches of Seabrook, the island is comprised of a single street lined with some of the finest waterfront properties in the state. Taylor Lake Village is located across the lake. Venture south and you’ll come across the community of El Lago. Seabrook Island is approximately 30 miles from Houston.
Aside from the promise of island living in the Greater Houston Area, Seabrook Island’s exclusivity and seclusion make it highly desirable among prospective homebuyers. Add to that its access to top-performing academic institutions and recreational pursuits – with surroundings so beautiful and serene, it’s easy to forget you’re actually living in the Lone Star State.
Seabrook Island is home to stunning waterfront estates, some of which offer enough space and depth for avid boaters to dock their water vessels. These homes also usually come with boathouses. There are only limited home sites on the island, making the upscale community very exclusive and sought-after.
More single-family residences are available, however, if you’d take the chance to explore the whole subdivision. A common misconception among homebuyers is that Seabrook Island is just the island – it is in fact a neighborhood that covers four developed sections. Home sizes range from starter, single-story homes, to multi-bedroom residences.
Mediterranean villas, European-style homes, and Italianate-style estates are some of the offerings available in Seabrook Island.
- Neighborhood amenities include a junior Olympic pool, a boat ramp area useful for those who own water vessels, as well as two parks well-equipped with picnic areas, benches, pavilions, and play areas.
- The community is served by the Clear Creek Independent School District.
- The Armand Bayou Nature Center in Clear Lake is just a short drive away from Seabrook Island. An urban preserve, the nature center hosts special events throughout the year. Educational and stewardship programs are offered, as well as guided tours and photo hikes.
